About Our Guide...Lise Apatoff
A resident of Florence since 1978, Lise Apatoff earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her Masters of fine Arts from the University of Washington, Seattle.
She originated, developed and taught with other artists "Learning through Art", a seminar for elementary and high school teachers.
Since living in Florence she has been an organizer, teacher, and coordinator of educational workshops, both in schools and on her farm.
She has worked all over Italy as a translator and interpreter for visiting committees, and as a tour planner, leader and museum lecturer for Wilderness Travel; Berkeley California, Classic Journeys, San Diego California and Humanities Aboard an educational travel company based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lise is an official museum guide for the city of Florence.
Passionate about food since she was a child, she worked for many years with a caterer in Seattle.
She has been peeking and tasting in kitchens all over Italy for the past 25 years, and for the past decade has been taking lucky guests with her to explore the marvels of the food and culture of Tuscany.
