Always make sure you have a small sum of the currency of the country you are visiting when you arrive.
The best way to obtain funds is with an ATM card. Make sure you have a 4 digit access code and check with your bank before you depart to make sure your ATM card will be accepted in the country where you will be traveling. Most airports will have an ATM machine, enabling you to get local currency upon arrival.
Many European countries do not have wash cloths in the rooms. Take one with you in a zip lock bag.
Make sure you have copies of your passport, credit cards and any other important documents with you that you keep separate from the originals.
Always keep your passport with you and do not pack it in your check-in luggage.
Double check your travel times and dates prior to ticketing and reconfirm flights 72 hours before departure.
Know and respect local customs and tipping protocol.
Leave a copy of your travel itinerary with someone at home. Your travel agent will not be able to give anyone information regarding your trip unless you give permission in advance as we respect the confidentiality of your travel plans.
Know the electrical current of the country in which you are traveling and take the appropriate converter and adapter. See our Travel Extras page for assistance in purchasing one if needed.
